LCOY Canada 2022
Organizing Team

The transition to a sustainable, eco-friendly Canadian future is not as easy as turning off the oil pumps and opening windfarms. To revert the damages of the past, Canadian youth must cooperate and work together to achieve sustainable development.

Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) Canada 2022 is a United Nations event hosted by the University of British Columbia (UBC) Faculty of Forestry and Human and Nature Youth Club. It is a conference for youth ages 15-35 and will be held on Saturday, October 22. The 100% virtual, one-day conference will involve keynote speeches, workshops, presentations, and panel discussions surrounding the themes of building sustainable communities, thriving biodiversity, extreme weather events, and climate justice. By attending the conference you will be able to voice the future you want to live in and it will be shared directly with the United Nations. We are inviting you to come to LCOY Canada to listen, learn, and have a voice in your future.

The conference follows a framework provided by YOUNGO, the officially youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
